Financial Aid
College costs money! Students and parents must spend time learning about and researching financial aid options for post-secondary education and the application process. The following steps are necessary to help students and parents stay informed and prepare for the college financial aid process.

The mission of the University System of Georgia (and your school counselor!!!) is to help students and their families decide on a degree program, make financial plans and earn a college degree that sets a solid foundation for their future. Georgia Degrees Pay!
Search for scholarships: college websites, FastWeb , GAFutures, and make sure to visit our Local Scholarship List (updated annually).
Please note: This list is NOT exhaustive. There are THOUSANDS of scholarships available online - just start researching!

Hope GPA - The HOPE GPA can be viewed by visiting gafutures.org; the student must have his/her social security number. Georgia Student Finance Commission has set up a HOPE Helpline for those students who have questions regarding their HOPE GPA calculations. Please direct all questions to 1-800-505-4732 and follow the recorded prompts.

All students and parents are encouraged to complete the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application. By completing the FAFSA and submitting it to your college choices, you will be notified of all the financial aid you are eligible for, including the HOPE program and PELL grant.

Students and parents/guardians should become informed early about completing and submitting the FAFSA online. You may access the FAFSA through the gafutures account or go to FAFSA.gov. (DO NOT use the FAFSA.com site.)
